Divide your area into sections and use the measuring tools below to add up the total square footage and or to remove any square footage such as pathways and flower gardens.
AREA OF A SQUARE OR RECTANGLE
LENGTH x WIDTH
Example:
a = 5 ft
b = 10 ft
5 x 10 = 50 sq ft
AREA OF A TRIANGLE
BASE x HEIGHT ÷ 2
Example:
a = 10 ft
b = 5 ft
(10 x 5)/2 = 25 sq ft
AREA OF A CIRCLE
PI x RADIUS SQUARED (πr²)
Example:
r = 10 ft
3.14 x 10² = 314 sq ft
CONVERSION TABLE
1 sq metre = 10.7639 sq ft
1 sq yd = 9 sq ft
WEIGHTS
1 pallet of sod (600 sq ft) can be approximately 2,600 lbs
